Artist's Comments
This is a picture I submitted to The Pokemon Tower's semi annual fanart contest for February 2005. The topic was "Where's my favorite characters ten years from now?" it won first place! I like this one, it came out really cute and sweet, and its still my favorite thing I've ever done for the tower.
(And yes, I Know Pikachu doesn't want to evolve and never would. In the pencil version of the image he's still drawn as a Pikachu and I had Ash's old hat... Then I realized I needed to do SOMETHING to make it 10 years later other than the ring... So I upgraded the hat and made Pikachu into a Raichu. Had the subject just been "On the Road" or something like that, totally woulda still been a Pikachu. EDIT: In the year 2009 I've gone back in and pumped the colors back up a little. I don't have the original finle anymore, just the flat final image, so I can't do it really tweak it the way I should, but its not quite so desaturated and near black now. |

Still, it is an awesome picture with a beautiful ring on her finger. It is cool to see that Pikachu finally evolved. I can just imagine that his power is WAY up there since he was strong even as a Pikachu.
